Job Summary

The Life Safety Systems Technician is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining life safety equipment and systems in compliance with prevailing building codes, corporate policies and procedures, and local fire codes.

Responsibilities:

• Assemble, repair, test, and maintain fire protection, fire alarm, and HGM systems and components according to system specifications.
• Submit documented reports regarding the inspection of installed fire suppression and HGM systems.
• Ensure all electrical systems safety procedures are understood and followed during system maintenance.
• Supervise and perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance for Fire Risers, Fire Extinguishers, PIVs, Tamper/Flow switches, Kitchen Hood Fire Suppression, Foam Systems, Carousels, Hydrants, Heat/Smoke detectors, Toxic Gas, Flammable Gas, Multi-Gas, O2, and other types of sensors.
• Interface with both Fire Alarm Systems and PLCs and SCADA systems.
• Dismantle portable fire extinguishers and examine tubing, horns, head gaskets, cutter discs, and other parts for defects, replacing worn or damaged parts.
• Handle and dispose of hazardous materials safely.
• Perform additional duties as required by business needs.
