I work directly with one of the largest U.S. commercial property and casualty insurance companies.

We are looking for IT Business Analysts to support a large project involving a system migration. This project will also include a significant business process changes to reduce manual processing and reduce process cycle times.

Location: Remote (PREFERENCE for CHICAGO, IL OR SIOUX FALLS, SD)

Travel: required to travel to San Francisco quarterly for 3-day PI planning sessions

Duration: 6 months to start, likely to extend based on performance and project funding

Responsibilities:

• Document business requirements and user stories from stakeholder sessions.
• Analyze business process needs and assist in creating supporting documentation (e.g., use cases, process flows, business rules, user interface mock-ups) during the project's concept and definition phases.
• Collaborate on system testing planning to ensure conditions, scripts, validation criteria, and expected outcomes effectively test the business requirements.
• Document and track requirements using tools like Caliber RM and Jira.
• Conduct research to understand business issues and develop innovative, cost-effective solutions. Additional duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of two years of experience in business analysis or related fields such as accounting, finance, insurance operations, or computer science, with prior experience in identifying and documenting business requirements.
• Strong understanding of the insurance industry, including its products, practices, and operations.
• Familiarity with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or general agile principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly translate business needs and articulate both business requirements and technical needs effectively.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Advanced proficiency in computer skills, including the Microsoft Office suite, Jira, Confluence, Lucid, and other relevant business software systems.

Preferred:

• Coursework toward relevant certifications is preferred.
• SAFe Practitioner certification is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of the surety industry is an advantage, but not mandatory.
