Our client is a Fortune 100 company & the world's largest manufacturer of construction equipment.
TITLE: Mechanical Drafter
POSITION: Contract, 12mos
AUTHORIZATION: W-2 or C2C
LOCATION: Rapid City, SD
RATE: $21ph W2 Benefits / $26ph C2C or Self Corp
*Rate fluctuates depending on experience & overall fit Rate increase $4 after 6mos
Summary:
The position will be working with the various Caterpillar electrical teams to design and model electrical harness, components, and modify schematics. The position will also be responsible for detailing the design and working with suppliers potentially. A member of the client BHEDC team will provide mentorship for this position, but the individual must be able to self-directed and motivated.
Job Responsibilities:
- Participate in receiving and tracking of engineering request for specific designs and the requirements needed for a given job, balancing multiple jobs and timelines associated with them
- Adhering to all client standards and specifications as required
- Assist in design, modeling, detailing and supplier collaboration
Skills:
- Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.
- Team player and detail oriented.
- Experienced knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in harness design, routing and schematics. Ability to design supporting brackets and clipping areas.
- Experienced knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
- Experienced knowledge of relevant computer application, such as CADD (Computer Aided Design and Drafting).
- Proficiency with use of Microsoft Office base programs;
Education/Experience:
- Associated degree minimum required
- 2-5 years experience required.
