Vendor Management Specialist (Contract)

Location: Hybrid in Chicago, IL

Duration: Through January

Pay Rate: $65-$70 per hour

We are seeking a Vendor Management Specialist for a contract role to join our dynamic team in Chicago. This is a hybrid position that offers the opportunity to work both remotely and in our Chicago office, providing a competitive hourly rate of $65-$70.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage Vendor Processes: Oversee vendor management processes from negotiation through to execution, ensuring pricing, KPIs, and SLAs are effectively managed.
• Governance Implementation: Develop and maintain vendor governance models, including monthly governance meetings and quarterly executive committee meetings.
• Issue Handling: Address and track weekly vendor escalations and issues, gathering performance feedback for governance reporting.
• Risk Mitigation and Compliance: Identify delivery risks and ensure compliance with internal policies and local/global regulations.
• Performance Management: Develop metrics and scorecards to evaluate vendor performance, drive improvements, and report on progress.
• Contract Management: Execute changes to contract documents, manage approvals, and maintain accurate records of vendor engagements and capacity plans.
• Lifecycle Management: Maintain contract terms and renewal schedules, and engage in the assessment of vendor risks and alternatives.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in vendor management or a related field.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain governance frameworks.
• Experience in performance management and contract lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with compliance and risk mitigation in vendor relationships.
