On-Call Program Monitor Full-time

Schedules

This position is 40 hours per week.On-Call Program Monitor may have varying shifts each day. Must be flexible to work 5 days a week as requested from Monday-Sunday and to work at all housing sites and drop in clinics located in San Francisco and Oakland.

Types of shifts: (times may vary)

Overnight shift midnight to 8am

Day shift 8am to 4pm

Evening shift 4pm to midnight

Reports to On Call Program Manager

Summary

Monitor the activities of residents after regular program hours. Respond to emergencies and conducts crisis interventions. Completes appropriate documentation and works with staff to facilitate treatment and identify resident issues. Accompany and supervise residents during morning or afternoon meals. Quality assurance and clerical duties.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Maintain good attendance record, including timely notification if unable to work shift
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
  • Managing the program environment after regular program hou (Shifts may include overnight or weekends.)
  • The ability to recognize relapse behavior
  • Documentation, i.e. Incident Reports and Log Book entries
  • Good communication skills and the ability to interact productively with residents and staff
  • Urinalysis
  • Quality Assurance
  • Clerical duties, i.e. photo copying and assembling charts, etc
  • Ability to drive clients as needed, pick up meals for the special needs clients and maintain good working relationships with the food service staff
  • Perform comparable related duties as required by management
  • Employee must be able to perform duties with what would be considered reasonable accommodation

Requirements

  • Associates Degree, High School diploma or GED considered with experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience working with “hard to serve”, substance abuse and mental health clients, with at least one (1) year in a human service agency
  • Translatable military experience and skills may be alternatively substituted
  • Maintain good attendance record, including timely notification if unable to work shift
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
  • Ability to engage clients
  • Crisis intervention de-escalation and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to recognize relapse behavior
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Listening skills
  • Ability to be a team player
  • Must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record
  • Ability to enter data into email and/or communication logs
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with a variety of personalities and be comfortable working with an at-risk client population, including embracing the agency’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiative
