SwRI is Hiring a TECHNICAL SPECIALIST - SR. TECHNICAL SPECIALIST - Owner's Representative Near San Antonio, TX

  • Serve as a representative of the Facilities department to internal clients and as a representative of SwRI as whole to external design and trade partners.
  • Assist Facilities management with cost forecasting and reporting of real-time metrics of project success.
  • Work cooperatively with other Facilities staff to ensure standards and procedures are consistently implemented and maintained across the project portfolio.
  • Coordinate between the design and construction teams, and the building end-users, to ensure facility requirements are captured, implemented, and constructed effectively.
  • Manage design and construction activities for facilities-related projects such as new buildings, additions, and remodels.
  • Prepare and evaluate design studies, and develop project budgets.
  • Guide bid processes.
  • Manage construction administration (budgets, schedule, scope, testing and inspections, etc.).
  • Manage internal clients, design consultants, and contractors in the office and on construction sites.
  • Requires a Bachelors degree in Architecture, Construction, Construction Science, or similar discipline with related industry experience.
  • 5 years: Experience in architectural, building engineering, or construction project management, administration, or other aspects of similar work.
  • Code research, submittal review, and development of scopes of work.
  • Ability to work with clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required.
