Symetra has an exciting new opportunity to join us as a Learning Technology and E-learning Specialist !

About the role

As a Learning Technology and E-learning Specialist , you will design and develop e-learning content for our core businesses.

You'll conduct needs analysis with subject matter experts, training specialists, and managers and apply instructional design methodology to develop engaging and inclusive content, focused on helping employees be more effective in their roles.

You'll work with stakeholders to understand how to develop training in support of business outcomes and focus on return on investment.

Ultimately, you'll support our goals to empower employees by helping to shape learning initiatives and enriching the learning culture.

What you'll do in this role

  • Partner with SMEs from various parts of the organization on developing engaging and dynamic e-learning content for areas such as, onboarding, product knowledge, customer service, technical tools, sales, etc.
  • Perform needs analysis to create blended learning solutions (e-learning, video, job aids, knowledge checks, etc.).
  • Leveraging storyboards, established templates, training outlines for content creation, use design concepts to build visually appealing material.
  • Maintain and measure success of content and make improvements as needed.
  • Review existing training programs and make recommendations on effective curriculum design to ensure learning transfer.
  • Apply instructional design methodologies and adult-learning theory to create new curricula that supports career progression.
  • Oversee multiple training projects, schedule meetings, in effort to meet deadlines and build and maintain relationships with SMEs, training specialists and managers.

Compensation

Salary Range : $75,300 - $125,600 plus eligibility for the company annual bonus program.

Your education, skills and experience

  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum 3 years professional experience in designing and implementing corporate e-learning solutions.
  • Required experience applying instructional design principles, agile methods, learning technologies and project management skills together in the design, development and maintenance of learning programs.
  • Experience in e-learning instructional design, adult learning theories and best practices.
  • Successful track record of delivering interactive learning solutions via multimedia authoring tools, such as Articulate Storyline and Rise, Vyond, Camtasia, and / or other emerging technologies.

Ability to assess a situation and provide a well-thought-out recommendation or solution.

  • Outstanding communication skills, ability to partner and collaborate to get work done as a team.
  • Technologically savvy, organized, able to manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, critical thinking, and planning skills.
  • Demonstrate dependability, agility, and high attention to detail.
  • LMS administration, SharePoint administration / design a plus. Expertise with multiple learning and content management systems, including system implementation at an enterprise scale.
  • Professional training certification preferred.
