Job Title: X-Ray Technologist

Reports to: Clinic Manager

Shift Details: Fulltime, M-F, 8:30am-5:00pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform X-ray examinations on patients according to physician orders and established protocols.
  • Adjust X-ray equipment settings to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Ensure the comfort and safety of patients during imaging procedures, providing clear instructions and answering any questions.
  • Position patients correctly for optimal imaging results.
  • Evaluate the quality of X-ray images to ensure diagnostic accuracy.
  • Make adjustments to equipment as needed to optimize image quality.
  • Record and maintain accurate patient information, including medical history and X-ray details, in electronic health records (EHR).
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports of completed X-ray examinations to the referring physicians.
  • Perform routine maintenance on X-ray equipment and coordinate with the appropriate personnel for repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and radiation protection standards.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to discuss imaging results and determine the appropriate course of action.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff to coordinate appointments and address inquiries.
  • Adhere to regulatory and safety guidelines, including HIPAA, and maintain compliance with all applicable standards and regulations.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure ongoing adherence to imaging protocols.
  • Stay informed about advancements in X-ray technology, attend relevant training, and participate in continuing education to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
  • Knowledge and compliance with safety measures to minimize exposure to ionizing radiation.
  • Adherence to infection control protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • ARRT Certification required
  • ACLS Certification is required and provided by company
  • BLS Certification is required
  • Enthusiastic outlook and can-do attitude
  • Strong technical skills in operating X-ray equipment and ensuring image quality
  • Team focused
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.
  • Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities and back muscles.
  • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts and exposure to chemicals.
