Job Description:
Role Summary/Purpose:
Reporting to the SVP, Home Core Leader, Home & Auto Platform, the General Manager is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the client relationship and performance. The role of the General Manager is to effectively grow the portfolio, increase assets/accounts, profitably execute growth initiatives, introduce additional products and lead SYF's cross-functional team. The General Manager will have direct P&L responsibility and will be expected to drive portfolio pricing, contract renewal and daily program administrative duties.

Essential Responsibilities:
Direct P&L responsibility for a PLCC and Dual Card portfolio within the Home & Auto Platform.
Partner with cross-functional team in the development and implementation of key strategies required to drive market penetration and growth in assigned market segments.
Develop and maintain excellent working relationship with client groups and all key stakeholders, including key industry influencers
Understand portfolio dynamics to develop, support and implement key business strategies
Own and drive overall portfolio financial performance as well as key growth metrics
Own and drive new product and capabilities for the client, and position Synchrony’s innovative brand.
Lead the cross-functional client team in supporting the client as well as achieving key deliverables.
Understand and deliver on key client metrics
Develop and execute detailed client growth strategies.
Develop and support all existing client incentives and integrate card performance.
Drive execution of a comprehensive sales effectiveness rigor needed to execute detailed growth strategies.
Work closely with client operations teams to develop/implement training initiatives as needed
Provide leadership to ensure adherence with all external and internal Compliance and Regulatory requirements
Drive professional development, mentoring and coaching of direct reports and functional support teams.
Lead contract administration, deal renewal and economic negotiations.
Support business-wide initiatives as needed
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or 7 years of work experience in the Financial services field.
Minimum of 5 years of client management experience or retail card experience.
Minimum of 5 years’ project management experience.
Minimum of 3 years leadership/team building experience with a solid track record of coaching, building both strong cross-functional alliances and motivating others to act in a boundary less fashion.
Minimum of 3 years marketing experience (Co-brand marketing experience a plus)
Desired Characteristics:
Demonstrated prior experience involving contract negotiations, competitive pricing, business planning and P&L management.
Demonstrated clear thinker with a proven track of being able to develop, articulate and execute a clear growth oriented vision and strategy
Strong marketing, creative and analytic skills
eCommerce, and Payment Industry experience
Home Furnishings Industry experience a plus
Dual Card/Co-Branded cards experience a plus
Experience with Rewards based Loyalty Programs a plus
Proven ability to influence corporate decision makers; strong negotiating skills
Ability to demonstrate innovation and creative approaches to business needs
Excellent written and verbal business presentation and communication skills
Grade/Level: 14
The salary range for this position is 150,000.00 - 250,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
Eligibility Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
