Description:

• This role will be to help with coverage during Director level LOA's

• To add support to the weekly reporting process, billing process, forecasts, and ongoing operational tasks like rev share payments and account reconciliations across several sites, products, and platforms.

• This role will have significant exposure to revenue-related finance/pricing for these growing and dynamic businesses.

• Revenue forecasting (annual budget, quarterly forecasts, long range plan, monthly operational reviews and other estimates and presentations)

• Analyze and report sales risks and opportunities against targets by identifying core drivers (ie: traffic, pricing, sell-thru, etc.)

• Own core ad sales revenue functions across all digital platforms (Desktop, Mobile, Social, Video on Demand, Connected TV, dMVPD, etc.)

• Responsible for key sales finance functions including general ledger postings of actuals/accruals and maintaining high levels of controllership in the ad sales process

• Coordinate with billing team to ensure that billing, revenue recognition and sales pacing are aligned, billing adjustments/barter agreements/revenue shares are managed correctly, etc.

• Improve digital media ad sales analytics

• Enhance depth of existing reporting to provide better analytical tools for both Finance and Sales teams

• Weekly basis providing support to sales team, pulling data together, mapping and validating, weekly reporting and reviewing, understanding changes on reporting, fixing data issues, work with BI and data team, story layout of findings and brining up to leadership.

• Project based work at times

• Has daily meetings - oversees a few team members and assist with day to day

• All financial reporting and forecasting of digital add sale revenue - news and other partnerships, working with external partners

• Work with Digital Media Planning/Strategy and Sales Leadership in core Sales Functions:

  • Pricing Analyses

  • Inventory/capacity utilization & analysis

  • Forecasting and Analysis

  • Growth strategy investment modeling

  • Business development/partnership revenue modeling

Qualifications:

• BA/BS 4-year degree

• MBA/advanced degree a plus

• 5-8 years of finance experience

• Prior Ad Sales experience preferred

• Prior Digital experience highly preferred

• Prior management experience

• SAP is a plus

• Background in media is a preference - or had analytical or audit background

• Being curious, wanting to know what's going on in the landscape

• Strong accounting and finance skills

• Demonstrated analytical strength and process mindset ability to identify and resolve key issues quickly

• Strong communication skills - ability to present and communicate ideas and thoughts to all levels of the organization from senior management to entry-level staff

• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills

• Accuracy and attention to detail and deadlines

• Excellent organization skills and proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

• Takes initiative to try and understand more

• Comfortable being uncomfortable

• Skills: Financial closing, planning and forecasting

• Comfortable with large amounts of data, strong excel, accounting, problem solving in a broad sense - learn the data, find the issue, resolving issues
