The Managing Director will oversee our company's core accounts in West Coast with the core remit of achieving material growth in market share in the geography. This role requires a balance of strategic leadership and tactical execution. The Managing Director will act as an extension of our Executive Leadership Team, ensuring the ecosystem of clients within the geography is well-cared for and Syneos Health is regarded as the leading clinical research partner within the geography. They will possess seniority and gravitas to act as both a thought leader in the region while also being hands-on in addressing issues and serving as the executive face to select customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, deploy and execute with key Syneos Health stakeholders in Business Development, Operations and Therapeutics the overall strategy for the geography achieving agreed to metrics, targets and goals.
  • Develop and execute strategic initiatives to strengthen relationships with key clients in the defined geography.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the company and key stakeholders in the designated regions, fostering a culture of trust and collaboration.
  • Act as an ambassador for the company, positioning us as a thought leader and a trusted delivery partner in the geography through speaking engagements, impactful leadership and industry events.
  • Evaluates the breadth of accounts and opportunities in the geography and appropriately allocates his/her time to generate maximum value
  • Provide executive-level support to select clients and project teams, addressing any issues or concerns that may arise, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction, and providing coaching to Account Leaders.
  • Collaborate with Business Development, Operations and Therapeutics to drive innovation and tailor solutions to meet the unique needs of clients in each region.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and expansion.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry influencers (PE, outsourcing) and key opinion leaders in the geography / biotechnology field.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MS, PhD) in a relevant field, such as life sciences, medicine, or pharmacy.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in consultative, strategic sales and customer account management, 8 experience in clinical operations in the clinical research industry, with a proven track record of success in strategic account management.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of the clinical research market, trends, regulations, and best practices.
  • Must have the essential scientific knowledge and the capacity to acquire knowledge of the Enterprise and showing the competence to grasp and anticipate the client's challenges, needs, and expectations, and provide bespoke solutions that align with the company's vision, mission, and values, as well as the industry standards and best practices.
  • Ability to establish authority, trust, and influence as a senior leader, and use this to generate value and growth for the company and the clients.
  • Broad operational knowledge, with proficiency in managing and overseeing the operational aspects of the account.
  • Cross-functional mind-set, highly collaborative, exceptional orchestrator of stakeholders and solutions, with an ability to coordinate and collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders, to ensure seamless delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Must be a customer focused leader with exceptional communication skills and uphold the company ethical standards and policies in all that they do.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to collaborate, influence, and persuade.
  • Excellent computer skills, with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to facilitate and lead team activities related to new business opportunities.
  • Effective organizational and problem-solving skills, with an elevated level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to travel as required, up to 35% of the time.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $232,000 to $370,000.The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
