Job Summary:
A Marine Electrical Services company in Fort Lauderdale are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Marine Electrical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering within the maritime or industrial sectors and be capable of leading and developing junior engineers and interns. This role offers the opportunity to grow within the company, taking on increasing levels of responsibility and eventually overseeing a dedicated engineering team. The company provides services to yachts, mega yachts, cruise ships, and commercial vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
*Create and review electrical drawings of yachts using AutoCAD and EPLAN software. Experience with EPLAN is preferred, but proficiency in AutoCAD is acceptable with the willingness to learn EPLAN.
*Ensure compliance with flag and classification society standards, navigating through regulatory requirements.
*Handle daily engineering tasks, solving diverse and challenging problems as they arise.
*Develop and implement engineering solutions that meet project specifications and deadlines.
*Work collaboratively with other engineers and departments to ensure seamless project execution.
*Foster a positive work environment, prioritizing strong interpersonal skills and teamwork.
*Commit to long-term growth within the company, contributing to the development and expansion of the engineering team.
*Report directly to senior management, providing updates and feedback on project progress and team performance.
*Manage and mentor a junior engineer and an intern, providing guidance and support to develop their skills.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
*Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
*5-10 years of relevant experience in the maritime or industrial sectors.
*Proven experience in managing and mentoring engineering staff.
*Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with EPLAN is a plus.
*Comprehensive understanding of regulatory standards and experience with flag and classification societies.
*Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work on complex, varied tasks.
*Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on teamwork and long-term collaboration.
*Must demonstrate a professional and adaptable personality, capable of fitting well within our team culture.
