Our client in Fox Chapel PA is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join the team
Duties:
* Create and submit PPAP documents for new product launches and modifications to existing products to ensure they meet customer requirements.
* Identify when process stability and capability studies are necessary for existing processes. Analyze results and recommend process changes based on findings, ensuring effectiveness through follow-up verification.
* Engage in Advanced Product Quality Planning to determine the best utilization of existing and new measurement systems during new tool or process design and implementation.
* Utilize problem-solving techniques such as 8D, 5-Why, FMEA, GR&R, etc., as well as advanced statistical methods.
* Monitor and manage customer portals efficiently.
* Coordinate pre-launch production trial runs and monitor processes during these trials.
* Lead the development of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
* Maintain Control Plans and FMEA's throughout the part's lifecycle.
* Guide and facilitate the application of appropriate problem-solving techniques for thorough root cause analysis and effective corrective action.
* Conduct supplier audits to drive continuous improvement in their processes.
* Collaborate with Sales, Supply-Chain, R&D, and Operations to address customer complaints and concerns.
* Apply statistical techniques and Measurement System Analysis tools as needed.
* Establish and uphold audit schedules, conducting various audits as required, including product, process, system, and supplier audits based on schedules and specific needs.
Job Requirements
Requirements:
* BS in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or technical discipline is required.
* Five to eight years experience operating in a IATF16949 certified organization or within a similar quality management system.
* Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with internal stakeholders and solve problems through manual extracts of data and manipulation thereof, research and presentation of the solution.
* Specific skills developing and executing DOE"s with strong analytical/SPC background required.
* Expert skills in core tools methods.
* Expert skills in Minitab is desired.
* Six sigma background is desired.
* Internal/external IATF 16949 auditing certification is desired.
