Responsibilities 

The Welding Engineer is responsible for overseeing the welding process, procedures, and fabrication materials to ensure efficiency, safety, and structural integrity:

• Outline plans and conduct research & development investigations
• Develop and test new fabrication processes and procedures
• Direct and coordinate technical personnel as necessary
• Perform experimental welding to evaluate equipment, techniques, and materials
• Prepare technical reports regarding R&D and preventative maintenance investigations
• Improve existing or develop new welding equipment
• Utilize understanding of welding to solve problems
• Other duties as assigned

Experience

• Engineering Degree, Welding certificate, and/or Associate’s Degree
• 5 years in the automotive industry with welding technology experience
• Specialized trade courses in Welding & Robotics
