Synergy Bank is Hiring a Training Specialist Near Baton Rouge, LA

SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday (8 AM - 5 PM)
SUPERVISOR: Training Director
DEPARTMENT: Training Department
OFFICE LOCATION: 6323 Mourning Dove Drive, Baton Rouge, LA (Travel is required.)
POSITION SUMMARY: The Training Specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of employees. The role involves assessing training needs, developing curriculum, and delivering both in-person and online training sessions. The Training Specialist will work closely with the Training Director and supervisors of various departments to ensure training programs align with organizational goals and meet the specific needs of different teams. Regional travel is required frequently among branch locations between Baton Rouge, LA and New Roads, LA and periodically to branch locations through Houma, LA.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct training sessions using various methods including classroom training, e-learning, hands-on workshops, and webinars with internal customers.
  • Design and develop training programs and materials based on organizational needs.
  • Develop and implement methods to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, to optimize training effectiveness, training costs, or environmental impacts. Develop alternative training methods if expected improvements are not seen.
  • Manages the classroom environment to ensure trainee receives quality learning experience. Provides feedback to Training Director.
  • Help facilitate needs assessments through surveys, interviews with employees, focus groups, or consultation with managers.
  • Facilitate onboarding training for new hires.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in training and development.
  • Propose and implement innovative training methods and tools.
  • Work with the Training Director to offer tailored training solutions to help workers maintain or improve job skills.
  • Work with department heads to identify specific training requirements.
  • Partner with subject matter experts to ensure training content is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Maintain training records and track progress of employees.
  • Schedule training sessions and manage training logistics.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to present a business professional appearance.
  • Ability to select and use training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.
  • Ability to use active listening skills.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Ability to monitor and assess the performance of yourself and make improvements as needed.
  • Ability to adapt to other people’s needs and goals.
  • Ability to manage your own time and work both independently and as a team meeting deadline.
  • Ability to identify measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one relative to the goals of the organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor’s degree OR 3 years of training OR employee development experience
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
  • 5 years of banking experience
  • Banking trainer experience
  • Experience with various platforms for content creation.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Must be able to provide balanced and objective information to supervisors and co-workers both verbally and in written format.
  • Ability to make Impactful, articulate, persuasive, engaging presentations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt to varying personalities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must have a reliable vehicle to travel frequently among branch locations between Baton Rouge, LA and New Roads, LA and periodically to branch locations through Houma, LA.
  • Must be able to work at a computer station in front of a monitor for up to 4 hours at a time.
  • Must be able to interact with the public utilizing various methods of communication.
MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must have the attention span to stay alert and attentive during a normal 8-hour workday.
  • Must be able to make sound, quick decisions based on the facts of a situation, and remain calm and in control in a possible ever-changing environment or an emergency.
  • Must be able to follow instructions and procedures exactly as trained or as directed by his or her supervisor.
  • Must be able to listen to, grasp, and respond positively to supervision and instructions by Management.
  • Physical and cognitive ability to perform the essential duties and functions of his/her job.
  • Ability to safeguard and maintain confidential information as directed by Federal law and Company policy.
