Role:
Provide tooling for production equipment. This involves regrinding used tools and sharpening them, inspecting new and regrind tool geometry to print specifications, and setting tools in tool holders.

Machine Operator has a general knowledge of inspection, print reading, set-up, and machine operation to performed at an intermediate level with a general responsibility for work involved.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspect incoming perishable tooling to ensure it meets print specifications
• Utilize CNC tool grinder to regrind used tools
• Inspect regrinds to print specifications
• Set tools in various tool holders ensuring they are within acceptable parameters
• Support production machine operators in troubleshooting tool related issues
• Some opportunities to work on lathes and other tool room equipment.

EDUCATION

• 2 years related experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge to set-up, operate, and adjust a variety of Tool Room equipment, work to close tolerances, perform layouts, print reading and math computations at an intermediate level.
• Subject to routine decision making based on established Tool Room practices and technical procedures. Progress of work is periodically checked by others.
• Provide or receive technical information which may require an explanation or interpretation to proceed with specific job involved.
