Job Description

We are currently seeking a Plant Supervisor for the Valagro Manufacturing team in Orangeburg, SC. As a Plant Supervisor, you will offer technical expertise to ensure the successful execution of planned production in the plant, maximizing quality, capacity, and efficiency outcomes.

This includes upholding established safety, quality, environmental, and cost standards, managing plant reliability, supervising personnel, and ensuring compliance with all current Q-ESH laws and regulations.

This position will be on site in South Carolina. Optimal support location for the territory is in the Orangeburg or Columbia area.

Up to 20% travel may be required.

Duties

  • Ensures plant operability, maintaining production capacity and required quality standards.
  • Ensures compliance with safety and environmental procedures as mandated by law and operating handbooks.
  • Analyzes production data within their department to compile periodic reports, identifying budget deviations and recommending corrections.
  • Proposes improvements in plant processes / machinery and departmental work organization, setting goals accordingly.
  • Reviews maintenance requests from chargehands, collaborates on service planning, and supervises adherence to safety regulations and service quality.
  • Manages personnel planning and organizes departmental work, preparing weekly production shifts in line with the agreed plan.
  • Coordinates departmental operators, assessing staff competencies and overseeing their professional development.

Qualifications

Required :

  • Degree in technical or scientific field with 5 years of proven experience in a similar position related to chemical formulation or formulation manufacturing.
  • Manufacturing process experience / knowledge with base chemical knowledge.
  • Experience as Plant of Shift Supervisor in similar role in formulation, fill and pack for a manufacturing company.
  • Strong continuous improvement, process risk assessment, and HSE excellence mindset.
  • Experience working in cross-functional organizations, navigating a dynamic environment ensuring effective and focused project delivery (on time and within budget).
  • Proven ability to prioritize activities and manage multiple requests from different stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Proven manufacturing experience from a plant environment is strongly preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Belt certification.
