Syngenta is Hiring a Global Seeds Development Operational Planning & Delivery Lead Near Chicago, IL

Key Responsibilities
Develop Best Practices and implementation Plan for Planning , Scheduling and delivering
Design operational planning best practices for plant breeding activities, including but not limited to sowing, pollination, harvesting, and data collection. Best practices to include but not limited to: Resource management, including level loading of resources and personnel to ensure the timely completion of breeding tasks according to the project timelines. Coordination with cross-functional teams to align breeding activities with overall organizational objectives. Monitoring resource utilization and make adjustments to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
Data Management:
Develop best practice process, tools and organization to ensure
  • maintenance of accurate records of breeding activities, inventory, and resource usage.
  • Data is utilized to analyze operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure that data collection methods are aligned with breeding objectives and data quality standards.
Communication:
Develop org structure and processes that allow
  • Ops planning as the primary point of contact for operational matters within the breeding program.
  • schedules and operational changes are communicated to all stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Design and implement Tiered accountability metrics & meetings to review progress, address challenges, and plan future activities.
Compliance and Best Practices:
Ensure that all breeding operations comply with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and ethical guidelines.
Stay updated on industry best practices and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Problem-Solving:
Anticipate operational issues and develop contingency plans to mitigate risks.
Address and resolve any operational challenges that arise, ensuring minimal disruption to breeding activities.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Production Operations Management, Engineering, Statistics, Agriculture, Plant Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in operational planning, preferably in the agricultural or plant breeding sector.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on teamwork and collaboration.
  • Proficiency in data management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of plant breeding processes and agricultural practices is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
