Job DescriptionThe College of Arts & Sciences at Syracuse University is looking for an individual to teach one section of WGS 101: Introduction to Women’s & Gender Studies during Fall 2024. Course description: gender as a critical inquiry relating to race, class, and sexuality (3 credits)

Responsibilities
  • Teach WGS 101 Introduction to Women’s & Gender Studies
  • Develop and/or update class syllabus.
  • Use Blackboard to post items and communicate with students.
  • Order appropriate books and materials in advance of the class start.
  • Prepare lectures, projects, and other student assignments.
  • Maintain regularly scheduled office hours.
  • Present instruction based on competencies and performance levels of the course.
  • Meet all designated class periods.
  • Submit mid-semester reports and final grades according to University regulations.
  • Provide feedback to students relating to progress in class through regular assessment means.
  • Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner.
  • Provide departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
  • Build a positive rapport with student and other faculty.
