System Logistics Corporation - Vertique (Krones Group) is Hiring a Quality Technician Near Arden, NC

DescriptionPOSITION: Quality TechnicianPOSITION REPORTS TO: Quality ManagerJob PurposeThe Quality Technician supports the quality department by acting as the shop floor point of contact and being hands on when quality issues arise. This position will work closely with other departments and promote a culture of quality assurance within the company and will also develop a clear understanding of established quality control procedures and protocols, and work to prevent quality issues from interfering with production.
Key Responsibilties And Accountabilities
  • Inspect incoming parts in receiving area for non-conformities, prepare NC reports and interface with Engineering, vendors and Purchasing to document and resolve quality issues.
  • Perform in process inspections in Fabrication, Machining, Welding, and Assembly Areas to audit for defects and aid in resolution. Monitor the integrity of products without impeding production
  • Coordinate with Purchasing and Shipping and Receiving to return non-conforming parts to suppliers.
  • Inspect parts in a paint staging area for defects before sending to paint, documenting issues and managing the disposition.
  • Perform the SAP transactions required to move parts into quality blocks or scrap (scrap of defective products).
  • Coordinate with Production Planning to create rework production orders for parts that can be reworked internally.
  • Keep accurate and standardized documentation.
  • Identify opportunities, drive improvement, and assist in developing new efficient procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications And Skills
  • Relevant experience is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work productively alone with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret, and convey technical information.
  • Attention to detail and a results-driven approach.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • SAP experience is preferred.
