Manager, Customer Strategic Marketing Our big brand, fun client in Providence is looking for a Manager, Customer Strategic Marketing to join their team for a (hybrid) short-term contract. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the strategy, development, and execution of branded retail programs. With a solid knowledge of marketing and merchandising, you will facilitate and drive relevancy of the client's brands. Additionally, you will prompt in-store purchase through compelling, persuasive displays that will interrupt the grocery and drugstore consumer along their shopper experience. Responsibilities:
Become a specialist in three critical areas: retail/shopper knowledge, program execution and internal collaboration between sales and brand marketing
Serve as the Grocery and Drugstore shopper specialist using data and insights that support the creation of innovative programs and omnichannel promotions
Develop, coordinate, and lead marketing presentations both internally and externally to the customer, global support teams and Senior Leadership
Partner with client's licensors as well as licensees, to drive collaborative promotions against entertainment events, product launches and seasonal activations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive and innovate the display planning and development process to bring relevant, innovative solutions that align with Grocery and Drug Channel account strategies
Lead multiple trade activation budgets and supervise financial measurement and analysis against marketing programming
Assist in leading the coordination of various, large audience events i.e., customer previews/line reviews, the industry’s annual event and internal sales and marketing meetings
Establish yourself as a Customer Marketing specialist by sharing key insights, competitive findings and industry news with Senior Leadership, US Marketing and Global Development teams on an ongoing basis while driving collaboration among such cross-functional partners
Serve as an ambassador to Grocery and Drug Channel team by relentlessly encouraging client's values, being an advocate for change and crafting break-through strategies that drive long-term growth
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising or relevant discipline; MBA strongly preferred
3 years of marketing experience in a CPG company
Experience with the development of fully coordinated retail programs and consumer promotions
Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear and concise direction/feedback to internal and external partners; outstanding presentation skills
A strong ability to influence others to adopt your recommendations; ability to collaborate and influence cross-functionally
Positive relationship building and project management skills; ability to make informed decisions quickly and keep performance on track
Strategic vision and in-depth understanding of how the shopper reacts to marketing vehicles
Analytical skills to identify projected sales, forecasted lifts and return on investment measurement
Understanding of corporate financials
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
A self-starter willing to try new things and think differently
