Senior Electrical Designer

System One is seeking aSenior Electrical Designerproviding electrical drafting and designs of electrical power system design on industrial facility. This position will be in detail design engineering firm in Pasadena, CA.
Sr. Electrical Designer Responsibilities:
- Utilize a CAD workstation to prepare difficult and complex 3D and 2D layout and design drawings which meet company and industry standards and codes. Contributes electrical design input to project 3D design models.
- Prepares CAD electrical design drawings of medium and low voltage facility power distribution systems from the electric utility interface point.
- Prepares CAD electrical design drawings of emergency and uninterruptable power generation and distribution systems.
- Prepares CAD electrical design drawings of miscellaneous Electrical systems such as lighting, grounding, electrical heat tracing, fire alarm, public address, security, card access, etc.
- Prepares typical CAD electrical design drawings such as: single line diagrams; power, lighting, grounding, and other systems plans; electrical area classification plans; electrical equipment arrangement plans; cable tray layout plans and sections; conduit and cable schedules; motor control schematics.
- Prepares typical electrical databases/spreadsheets such as: motor and electrical load lists; panel schedules.
- Prepares lighting calculations.
- Assists the Lead Electrical Engineer in maintaining the project design schedule and budget.
- Confers and coordinates with the Lead Electrical Engineer regarding any missing information required for completion of the design.
- Confers and coordinates with other disciplines to assure compliance with project requirements, company standards and procedures, industry codes and standards, utility company requirements, and client criteria.
- Assures that company and client CAD standards and procedures are followed.
- As a lead designer may direct, guide, and check the work of a team of CAD designers and CAD drafters on a project.
- Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
- Certificate in Design/Drafting. Electrical systems / basic electricity coursework included.
- Five (5) years of electrical power system design for industrial projects
- Proficiency with AutoCAD MEP design software experience is required. Proficiency with Revit, and Microstation design software experience is a significant plus.
- Knowledge of Electrical design practices including drawings, specifications, codes, building materials, and construction techniques.
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team of engineers and designers on multiple, concurrently executed projects.
- Good oral and written communication skills are essential. The designer must be willing to work with others and receive and comply with instructions.

Schedule and Benefit Details:
- Monday – Friday on 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off
- US Citizen
- Weekly Pay ($40 to $48/hr)
