System One is currently seeking a Senior Payroll Processor with extensive payroll and analytical experience to join our team for a 9-month contract working in Denver, CO.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in processing payroll for complex environments, including experience with unions, multi-industry environments, and multi-company payroll processing. Proficiency in Workday, along with expertise in Excel and experience with UKG is highly desired.
Responsibilities:
Process payroll for weekly, biweekly, and monthly pay groups, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations.
Utilize Workday to run reports and troubleshoot issues.
Collaborate with team members to address and resolve payroll-related inquiries and discrepancies.
Review data to meet payroll deadlines and ensure accurate payments.
Participate in projects related to payroll process improvement and preparation for upcoming payroll cycles.
Handle service tickets through Workday, addressing questions about taxes, W2s, and other payroll-related matters.
Provide cross-training to team members and support each other during payroll processing.
Follow a checklist on payroll processing days to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
Requirements:
8 years of payroll experience in a complex environment, preferably with a large corporation (5000 employees).
Experience with complex payroll scenarios, including multistate payroll and union environments.
Proficiency in Workday is strongly desired; experience with UKG is a plus.
Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and Vlookups.
Familiarity with ticketing systems such as Salesforce, ServiceNow, Zoho Desk, or Zendesk.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, HR, or related field preferred.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus.
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Contract Duration: 9-months.
Location: Denver, CO 80202
Pay Rate: $60/Hr.
Schedule: M-F (1 day in office / week)
