A metal company in Hopkins MN is seeking a lead maintenance technician to join their team! The lead maintenance technician will be responsible for the following:

Responsibilities:
• Maintaining the proper operation of all production related equipment necessary in the processing of expanded metal. This position requires the proficient operation of all expanders and related auxiliary equipment. In addition, general upkeep and maintenance of the plant facility as needed. It also includes responsibility and accountability for ensuring continuous improvement in operator performance, individual skill enhancement, process, quality, service, cost, and safety.
• Identify and correct all potential safety issues as number one priority.
• Oversee the duties and work activities of the maintenance personnel and die grinders.
• Manage all tooling inventory for Expander dies, bottom knives, and Perforating Dies & punches.
• Perform scheduled maintenance work request tasks and preventative maintenance tasks as prioritized and document actions taken.
• Maintain consistent level of parts, supplies and material inventory to minimize potential downtime.
• Work with outside vendors as needed to support manufacturing. i.e.: supply houses, contractors, etc.
• Develop, implement, and support systems to achieve cost reductions, quality improvements, productivity increases and improved customer satisfaction.
• Clean and organized work areas. (Includes an audit of the maintenance shop before end of the shift.)
• Shift to shift communication. Ensure accurate and thorough information flow between shifts.

Requirements:
• Technical and/or vocational education or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in industrial maintenance.
• Strong leadership, coaching and facilitating skills.
• Strong understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Experience in machining methods and equipment, as well as arc, wire feed and gas welding, and forklift certified
