What You’ll Get to Do:

Become a part of our efforts to support the Federal Protective Service (FPS) of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). FPS conducts the full spectrum of protection activities using threat-based information. Their investigation and intelligence-coordination capabilities provide a compass to direct operations to protect facilities ahead of threats—before they occur. They share and source information with security partners and stakeholders to conduct analysis and identify dangerous threats and use this analysis to inform security operations to prevent terrorism, manage cyber and physical risks to critical infrastructure, and protect government employees, property, information, and operations.
More About the Role:

You will be an important part of a team providing critical support to the Federal Protective Service (FPS) which has a need for continued contract Management and Program Support Services throughout its Headquarters Executive Management Office and Divisions staff and Regional Offices. You will deliver to FPS services that facilitate national coverage of management and program support which can be effectively and efficiently used to perform various management activities in conjunction with Agency mission. You will:

  • Engineer, implement, and maintain databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
  • Manage, maintain, and update as needed, custom sites, applications, and workflows in automated databases to support and streamline business processes.
  • Troubleshoot and repair database and data collection system workflow issues.
  • Manage and maintain automated database document libraries, enterprise lists and site collections.
  • Ensure quality and validity of programmatic data architecture and provide recommendations where needed.
  • Validate and analyze data to maintain interpretive monthly, quarterly, and annual program metrics reports.
  • Assist with data migration between data platforms and databases.
  • Consult and coordinate with agency process owners to review and discuss data methodology, analysis, trends, findings and contribute to the analysis of corrective action effectiveness.
  • Create reports/dashboards using Microsoft (MS) suite applications.
  • Maintain and refine permissions and groups within automated databases.
  • Create automated database site standardization via site and content templates, metadata tagging, workflows and reporting.
  • Review database content and recommend updates, deletion, and archiving of outdated information.
  • Support data management and document management for the government client
  • Set up and manipulate web parts, maintain, and modify pages for branding and connect to various data sources for information display.
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
  • Demonstrate analytical ability, particularly related to complex problems and concepts.
  • Prepare communications products for conducting briefings for FPS leadership, regional personnel, and external stakeholders.
  • Support the compilation of reports for all requests (regional, external stakeholders, and leadership).
  • Evaluate current processes and procedures and recommend changes to improve program efficiencies.
  • Produce reports, flowcharts, slide decks for projects, etc.
  • Create training materials and educate users.
  • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentation materials.
  • Prepare and assist in development of policy documents, white papers.
  • Prepare, edit, and assemble reports required for meetings and presentations.
  • Assist, as needed, with special projects.
  • Obtain necessary information from appropriate source(s) to complete assigned tasks and share information with others as needed.
  • Oversee the development, revision, and preparation of training materials.
  • Oversee the development and editing of regularly scheduled status reports, as requested by the Government Task Manager.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Desired education of a Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or similar fields. May substitute education with experience.
  • A minimum of 8 years of industry experience in data architecture, database programming, and data analytics tools and processes.
  • Shall possess expert knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office 2010 or higher to include Word, Access, Excel, SharePoint, PowerApps, and other automated databases
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to conduct detailed research and analysis of technical data.
  • Ability to read and interpret management policy, regulations, and directives.
  • Ability to work effectively with a group or independently.
  • Ability to effectively manage several tasks simultaneously.
