Job SummaryOur Falmouth, ME office is seeking a Right-of-Way (ROW) Technician with Transportation related Right-of-Way experience. The ROW Technician provides support to the Roads Highways Sector's Project Managers. Tasks include, but are not limited to, Existing ROW / Existing Conditions Plans, Final ROW Mapping, Notice of Layout and Taking documents, Surplus Property deliverables, and recording ROW Maps. Experience managing tasks and interacting with external clients is also preferred.Responsibilities & Qualifications

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Researches and interprets legal documents, town records, and property ownership information to determine and draft ownership and right-of-way limits and rights.

  • Evaluates, defends, and justifies lost boundary roadway layouts, complex wrought portion locations to resolve complex property ownership issues.

  • Oversees, drafts, and monitors complex ROW projects in order to ensure projects are mapped and documented according to plans and specifications, and conform to established procedures and guidelines. This will include developing R/W plans or reviewing R/W plans prepared by other TYLin staff or subconsultants.

  • Prepares and writes complex legal condemnation documents for acquisition of rights to provide documentation.

  • Organize and maintain project files.

  • Potential design support to be performed on projects in other parts of the Roads Highways Sector.

  • Ensure that drawings and design are in accordance with company production and design standards, follow Quality Assurance and Control procedures.

  • Other assignments as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS (INCLUDING EDUCATION and/or JOB EXPERIENCE):

  • 5-10 years of professional experience required.

  • HS Diploma minimum, additional related coursework is beneficial, but not required.

  • Proficient in BentleyMicroStation software

  • Experience with AutoCAD/Civil3Dand/or OpenRoads Designer is a plus.

  • Experience with MaineDOT projects is desirable.

  • Candidates must be strong communicators and well organized.
