Hours: 35-40 hours/week

FLSA Classification: Exempt

Salary Range - $65,000 - $ 75,000 Annually

General Summary

Contact Community Services is a dynamic and fast growing non-profit dedicated to mental health and suicide prevention. We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Director of School Services to join our team and provide leadership and support to the School Services division.

As the Assistant Director, you will lead a highly motivated and skilled team of school-based learning and support professionals. You will be responsible for supervision, program compliance, program development, data analysis and developing community relationships. You will also be part of a dynamic team leading the division during a period of rapid growth.

The successful candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. They will also have an exceptional capacity for developing staff and empowering a culture of collaboration and high performance. They will be able to demonstrate understanding of the principles of diversity, equity and belonging and bring a trauma informed lens to their work,

They will be highly organized with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. They will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee day to day operations of assigned programs including ensuring adequate staff coverage.
  • Provide leadership, supervision and support to program staff to sustain a high performance and collaborative work environment.
  • Provide oversight and support to the recruitment, selection, and training of staff.
  • Conduct new employee orientation to foster positive understanding of organizational policies and objectives in conjunction with the School Services leadership team.
  • Implement and oversee data tracking systems to ensure program compliance.
  • Prepare and submit required reports to funders and other overseeing entities.
  • Provide training in areas related to mental health, substance use disorders, suicide prevention and crisis intervention.
  • Assist with research, grant writing and fund development for program development.
  • Work with division director and other managers to maintain various service accreditations and manage site-visit preparation.
  • Represent and promote Contact at community events.

Education Requirements

  • Master's Degree in social work, counseling, clinical psychology or related field.
  • LCSW/LMSW strongly preferred.

Previous Experience Background

  • Three years of operational leadership and management experience in a nonprofit organization, educational institution or other related setting
  • Demonstrated track record in program development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Prevention specific education and training from OASAS and two years of qualifying mental health or prevention work experience preferred.
  • Proven strategic and visionary leadership skills with problem solving skills.

  • Exceptional capacity for developing staff and empowering a culture of collaboration and high performance.
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Grant writing and compliance.
  • Experience creating collaborative relationships.
  • Demonstrated understanding and dedicated to principles of diversity, equity, inclusion.
  • Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed practices.
  • Excellent presentation/oral, written and interpersonal communications skills.

Additional Requirements

  • Some evening and weekend hours are involved providing training or tabling events.
  • Ability to visit school sites and other community locations.
