Position SummaryThe Self-Direction Associate is a professional who ensures Medicaid and NY State compliance standards are met for billing purposes in Self Direction Services. The SD Associate will be responsible for reviewing and approving payroll for SD DSP’s (Direct Support Professional) in the eVero system. The SD Associate will review and ensure required documents are attached to all invoices to ensure reimbursements are billable per OPWDD guidelines. The SD Associate will ensure individual training records for self-hired DSPs are kept up to date as well as training DSP’s on the eVero app. The SD Associate will review Service Plans, attend Circle of Support Meetings and assist with the tasks assigned by the Fiscal Intermediary Coordinator. Duties and ResponsibilitiesWell versed in all Self-Direction policies and procedures. Training DSP’s on all SD policies as required to ensure SD policies are followed. Using the eVero software for processing payroll, ensures EVV requirements are met when approving payroll. Making Fiscal Intermediary Coordinator (FI) aware of DSP’s that require a disciplinary memo per SD policies. Correspond with self-hired DSPs to communicate training needs to stay up to date with compliance standards. Monitors Relias training records and employee files on SharePoint. Works closely with significant people and organizations in each individual’s life to ensure appropriate team support and monitor satisfaction of services as stated in the Individualized Service Plan as well as health and safety as stated in Lifeplan safeguards. Responsible for the maintenance of the Personal Resources Allowance Budget. Participates in the individual’s launch meeting to review services and supports that are authorized in the PRA budget along with the Circle of Support meetings and Lifeplan meetings. Explain all fiscal procedures and required documentation to the individual that includes billing, hiring and training self-hired staff. Can explain the role of co employer. Review and authorize monthly summaries. Reach out to DSP’s to complete documentation as required. QualificationsMinimum education level is an associate’s degree in a health, human service, management or finance field. A bachelor’s degree is preferred. Minimum experiential level is two years working with a nonprofit agency that provided services to individuals with disabilities. Experience may be waived if the candidate holds a master’s degree in a health, human service, management or finance field. Must have a valid New York State driver’s license. Required Skills and AbilitiesSelf-Direction Associate must have a working knowledge of OPWDD regulations and community service programs and remain informed about current trends and changes. Must be able to communicate effectively through both spoken and written word. Must be able to represent the agency professionally. Must have a reliable vehicle and maintain a clean driving record.
