Job Description:

Tactacam is seeking a Director of Hardware Delivery to lead the effort of setting up and creating an engineering team and facility in Billings Montana. This individual will be responsible for the internal team of mechanical, electrical, firmware engineers and external resources. This position will require someone that has extensive experience in managing electromechanical project teams through a complete development process from concept to production. The ideal candidate will have experience in consumer electronics, specifically experience with camera development. The positions will manage both the engineering development process of new products as well as the sustaining engineering of legacy products. The ideal candidate will be success driven. The individual will also be responsible for creating new engineering processes through integration of new software as well as maintaining and refining current SOP’s. As the design engineering team is still new to Tactacam this candidate needs to have a strong background in setting up as well as maintaining engineering teams that consist of firmware, mechanical and electrical engineers. Tactacam’s ideal candidate will have experience managing a staff of 10 as well as using ODMs for product development.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with any CM’s and ODMs to produce new products, resolve production issues, and resolve any product quality issues.
• Manage mechanical, electrical and firmware staff.
• Help build engineering and testing Facility.
• Build out Engineering process with help of Testing, Firmware and Hardware Managers
• Continue building an effective hardware engineering team.
• Manage department budgets.
• Manage new product development process, driving timelines, cost goals, and quality standards.
• Manage the sustaining engineering process, troubleshooting issues, proposing design solutions, implementing said solutions with CM’s.
• Report out project status to executive management team.
• Develop all new products from concept through production using Reveal Platform.
• Managing and maintaining the compliance certification process for all products in current offering as well as products being developed.
• Own progress and timelines of projects with help of project management staff.

Requirements:

• 10 years’ experience managing a team of 10 .
• 5 years’ experience in Director level role
• 5 years’ experience working with ODMs

Desired Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Extensive skills in electro-mechanical product design, FEA, and DFM.
• Proficient in Microsoft office suite.
• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or Business preferred. Master’s Degree a plus.

Location:

This position is located in Billings, MT. We encourage applications from candidates currently residing in Billings or those willing to relocate. Tactacam offers a relocation package for eligible candidates.
