Looking for variety and technical challenges? We're searching for a forward-thinking Senior Automation & Controls Engineer to lead a wide range of projects across industrial sectors such as chemical, power, food/beverage, and pharmaceutical manufacturing. This is no ordinary engineering role - you'll be the mastermind behind groundbreaking designs, a technical expert who inspires innovation, and a strategic thinker who ensures our projects meet and exceed our client's needs.
Projects variety examples:
  • System upgrades to provide efficient and effective process for control of existing and new devices/instruments including new safety detection devices to provide automatic activation of the RAD system without operator intervention.
  • Programming, start-up and commissioning support and detailed engineering and development of construction documents for the Tank Truck Area Pump Replacement project
  • Automation of a Bottling Tank Room with the ability to communicate with tanks located in blending areas. This included wiring additional transfer pumps into the PLCs and automating existing valves.
  • Increase efficiencies in pharmaceutical manufacturing plant. This includes providing PLC programming, HMI/SCADA development, and OIT software development to implement the process control system detailed in the P&IDs and functional requirement specifications, as well as in the CSDS and SDS.
Here's a taste of what you'll be doing:
  • Work with a talented team of engineers and designers; providing guidance and mentorship.
  • Plan, organize, and perform detailed electrical and/or control system design for industrial projects.
  • Develop PLC/HMI/DCS programs
  • Direct contributing engineers and CAD designers for the preparation of construction and control panel design drawings.
  • Coordinate project design with other engineering disciplines.
  • Work closely with clients to provide technical solutions and project execution.
  • Champion innovative solutions for complex automation design challenges.
  • Oversee all aspects of the automation engineering process, from concept to completion.
  • Interface with clients to understand their needs and translate them into exceptional designs.
  • Ensure projects meet all regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Stay on top of emerging technologies and industry trends.
You'll be a perfect fit if you have:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related engineering degree.
  • A minimum of 8 years of applicable consulting or engineering experience.
  • Experience in a variety of industrial sectors, such as chemical, food/beverage, power, pharmaceutical, etc. We will work with you to get training on the market sectors where you don't have direct experience.
  • Professional Engineering License is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of controls engineering principles, calculations, trends, and applications.
  • Extensive experience in specification and programming of controls systems including Rockwell family of processors and HMI's, ability to program new applications and modify existing applications.
  • Working knowledge of Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, Profinet and other industrial communication protocols.
  • Experience programming Wonderware, iFix, Maple, DeltaV, Ovation, Siemens PLCs, Omron, Modicon, Mitsubishi, Ignition, and Koyo is a plus.
  • Experience programming SCADA.
  • Exceptional communication skills to collaborate with a diverse team and clientele.
