Job Summary:

Provides overall strategic human resource leadership to the Takasago Americas Team (TAKUS, TDM & TBR). Leads the development and implementation of critical HR initiatives and programs that align with the business objectives, fosters a high-performance culture, and attracts, retains, and develops top talent. Position plays a critical role in shaping and executing the culture in support of continued growth and is a member of the Senior Management Team.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Collaborates with the President, Senior Leadership Team and Affiliate managers across Takasago Americas (US, Mexico & Brazil) to execute the short-term and long-term strategic initiatives and achieve organizational goals, identifying ways to support the team with a focus on talent acquisition, management and retention initiatives.
  • Responsible for directing the HR functions for the Americas, in accordance with the policies and practices of the Corporation, the ethical and social consciences of business and society and the laws, regulations and administrative rulings of governmental organizations and other regulatory and advisory authorities and organizations;
  • Develops a consultative relationship with President and Executive Staff members. Provides a clear understanding of the human resource impact of operational and financial decisions under consideration.
  • Provides strategic leadership and direction in all areas of human resources. Oversees the development and implementation of human resource policies, programs and services, including talent acquisition, compensation, benefit administration, payroll, employee engagement, performance management, diversity and inclusion, employment policies. learning and development initiatives,
  • Manages the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and programs to support human resources operations and maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Assists in the accomplishment of company objectives by performing other related duties as assigned.
  • Provide leadership and guidance, as well as develops, evaluates, mentors and supports team of HR and payroll professionals while positively defining and contributing to the company’s culture and success.
  • Ensures that compensation philosophy and practices are aligned with organizational objectives, leverage salary benchmarking and surveys regularly; ensuring effective salary administration program.
  • Identifies the short-term and long-term HR needs of the organization, and develop strategies for acquiring, implementing, and maintaining systems to efficiently meet those needs.
  • Guides the development and implementation of employee-related programs and processes that will both support the business requirements, drive a culture of success, and reinforce the attractiveness of TAKUS as an employer;
  • Ensures department goals are met by coordinating the preparation of the annual operating and capital budgets and ensuring department expenditures fall within budget.
  • Coaches and mentors managers and develops a leadership bench strength capable of addressing the challenges of a highly effective organization.
  • Mediates employee relations and performance issues and provides counsel to managers on appropriate methods of performance management.
  • Adds value to the development of the business strategy and establishes the strategic Human Resources agenda to ensure that the business needs of the Takasago Group are anticipated and addressed;
  • Ensures all HR functions are compliant with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Travel required about 10%


Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent required. Advanced degree in Psychology, business or related field preferred. Certification in HR (SPHR, GPHR) helpful.


Experience:
A minimum of 15 years’ experience, with at least 10 gained through progressive HR management experience, and at least 3 leading an HR function. Requires 10 years of demonstrated leadership experience in human resources, including expertise in key areas such as organizational planning, compensation, benefit administration and employee relations, talent acquisition, payroll administration, employee classification, succession planning, contract administration, and change management.

The equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.


Competencies:
Broad and deep experience as an HR generalist with extensive knowledge of HR business processes. Advanced knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. Strong leadership and managerial skills. Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.

  • Demonstrated excellence in working with peer teams across countries, affiliates, and cultures to support diverse employee population. Knowledge of and experience with varied HR information systems.
  • General business skills and financial acumen with the ability to utilize HR data and metrics as they relate to and impact business decisions.
  • Particular emphasis on the areas of organization design, change management, experienced in designing and implementing proactive strategies to address business issues. Knowledgeable about innovative approaches to managing human capital Demonstrated ability to develop, monitor and respond to HR and company metrics
  • Broad knowledge of benefits, employment, compensation, payroll, organizational planning, employee relations, and training and development. Strong management skills – principles and people. Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature, and flexible. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs and platforms.
