Talascend is currently seeking Automotive Mechanics for a contract opportunity in Wentzville, MO
SHIFT:6 days/week
12 hours/day: 6am-6:30pm
SUMMARY:The Automotive Mechanic II will modify cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. The Automotive Mechanic II will perform independent project tasks and collaborate with customers and team members.
The Automotive Mechanic Senior will modify cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. The Automotive Mechanic Senior mentors and oversees team member’s technical deliverables to ensure customer standards are met.
RESPONSIBILITIES:Mechanic II
Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections.
Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components
Read, interpret, and follow service procedures
Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders.
Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs
Sr Mechanic
Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up.
Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections.
Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components.
Read, interpret, and follow service procedures.
Train, coach, and mentor team members related to their job responsibilities and is available as a subject matter expert to assist the team and customers.
Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders.
Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs.
Lead daily shop organization and clean-up.
REQUIREMENTS:Mechanic II
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 4 years of work experience as a Mechanic.
Has own tools with rolling toolbox and able to work overtime and weekends.
Ability to read, comprehend and execute written procedure
Knowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipment.
Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent knowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipment.
Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
Sr Mechanic
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 8 years of work experience as a Mechanic
Knowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipment.
Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipment.

Able to work independently and as part of a team and able to mentor and train others.

PREFERRED:Mechanic II
Certificate in Automotive Technology or related.
National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s).
State Mechanic Certification(s).
Valid driver’s license.
Knowledge of vehicle alignments, air conditioning (A/C) system repairs, tire machines and balancers.
Sr Mechanic
Certificate in Automotive Technology or related.
State Mechanic Certification(s).
Valid driver’s license.
Knowledge of vehicle alignments, air conditioning (A/C) system repairs, tire machines and balancers.
