Talascend is currently seeking a Welder for a contract opportunity located in Houston, TX.

Second shift - 6pm - 6am (12hrs)

OVERVIEW:

For the welder IV position its necessary for the person to be familiar with TIG welding on a 36 Dia. pipe 2in wall thickness to perform the root pass and hot pass.

We perform the MIG process on an Automatic welding machine. It would be a plus if the welder can perform SubArc (SAW) on an automatic welder.

Ensure welding operating tasks and activities within time frame in agreement with the objectives fixed in term of performance, quality, and safety.

Key interactions:
Internally: Permanent and functional relations with Maintenance, Tooling, Quality Control, Methods, Process.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate welding tools following moderately complex specifications
• Plan the sequence of welding operations
• Monitor and control the welding operations
• Control and adjust the quality of the output in line with blueprints and specifications
• Can teach more junior welders
• Detect problems and alert
• Understand and follow all safety requirements and procedures
• Operates moderately complex welding tasks autonomously
• Refers to supervision for highly complex tasks and activities

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Professional education and/or apprentice ship with confirmed mechanical skills
• Good professional practice: more than 5 years experience
