The May Center Home, School, and Center Based Program in Western Massachusetts is currently accepting resumes for a full-time Speech Language Pathologist based out of our West Springfield office to provide direct services for our Early Intervention program.This is a full- time position with a Monday-Friday schedule!Early Intervention is a program funded through the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) that provides supports to children from birth to age 3. A child may be eligible for services if s/he has a developmental delay. This could mean that he or she is not saying many words; not sitting, crawling or walking when expected; has a diagnosed disability such as Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, or autism; and/or lives in an environment that would put him or her at risk for developing delays.What sets us apart:services are direct which allows for flexibility for the specialist to spend time on what the child and family needs most each week.Services are held wherever the child is during the day (home, daycare, relative’s home,etc)Sessions involve the family as a unit; therefore, all outcomes are family drivenWrite and train parents and other team members on programs allowing children to receive lots of practiceAn environment of collaboration and support between all team members to best support the children we serveAccess to resources for professional developmentFor six decades, May Institute has set the national standard for providing comprehensive, research-based services to children and adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities, brain injury and mental illness.May Institute blends science with service to help make progress possible for thousands of children, adults, and families each year.Join us in our mission to promote independence, choice, dignity and respect for those we serve.ResponsibilitiesProvide direct services to children for whom therapy supports are identified in their Individual Family Service PlanComplete a specific assessment to document child’s statusCollaborate with parent to develop specific functional outcomes using family friendly terminologyMaintain on going contact with child’s service coordinator to ensure consistency in service deliveryTrain and provide consultation to staff as neededAttend IFSP and school meetingsDocument session notes after each visitSupervise students in their clinical fellowship yearQualificationsCurrent licensure by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) granted by the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association2 years experience supporting infants and toddlers preferredKnowledge of child developmentMust have reliable transportation
