The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting with the preparation of financial statements, maintaining general ledgers, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role supports the Accounting Manager and Controller in carrying out the responsibilities of the Accounting Department.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

General Ledger Maintenance:

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Post journal entries and ensure proper documentation.

Account Reconciliation:

• Perform monthly account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Assist in the preparation and processing of invoices and payments.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor budget variances and report findings to management.

Internal Controls and Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
• Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation to auditors.

Financial Analysis:

• Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
• Prepare reports and summaries for management review.

Tax Preparation:

• Assist in the preparation of tax returns and other regulatory filings.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.

Special Projects:

• Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
• Provide support for system implementations and upgrades.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Experience:

• 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems is preferred.

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
