Job Title: Senior Infrastructure Project Manager

Location: Richmond, VA

Certification Requirement: PMP certification through PMI or VITA's PM certification. No other certification qualifies.

Work Requirement: Onsite 2-3 days per week.

Job Description:

The Information Technology Division is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Project Manager to manage and deliver complex IT projects with multiple teams and work streams coordinated to an aggressive delivery schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a hands-on technical project manager with development staff and business groups.
• Coordinate and communicate with IT management and staff to organize work tasks and resources.
• Communicate timelines and expectations to technical and business staff.
• Collaborate with vendors, consultants, and contractors in the execution of projects, including contract management and working with procurement offices.
• Adhere to project management practices and governance requirements; coordinate with Project Management Offices.
• Maintain project budget, plans, tasks, schedules, risks, and status, and disseminate information to team members and customers as defined in the communications plan.
• Ensure documentation of requirements and use cases; facilitate design workshops for assigned projects.
• Ensure definition of test objectives, design test plans, and test cases for assigned projects.
• Manage project milestones and deliverables for on-time and on-budget delivery.
• Define, measure, and clearly communicate progress with metrics.
• Support system and application training efforts.

Qualifications:

Required:

• A minimum of 5 years of project experience in IT infrastructure delivery, network infrastructure, network architecture, wireless technologies, cloud implementation, and vendor management.
• Familiarity with telecommunications, network technologies, network standards, and practices.
• Experience managing projects consisting of network switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, fiber optics, and internet services.
• Experience in modern fabric-based networks - Network Fabric, underlay, overlay, and SD WAN.
• Experience with VoIP infrastructure is a plus.
• Experience managing large, multi-stream projects.
• Experience reviewing carrier bid feedback and presenting carrier/circuit recommendations to the Management Committee for approval.
• Work with cross-functional IT teams to identify, extend, enable, and deliver a scalable, secure, reliable, and cost-effective cloud solution.
• Responsibility for integrating technical knowledge and business knowledge to develop innovative solutions to automate project activities.
• PMP or qualification under Commonwealth of Virginia Qualification Standards for IT Project Managers for Category 4 Projects.

Preferred:

• Experience in both Agile and Waterfall project management.
• Experience in complex office relocation, including networking, security AV, and other office equipment.
• Agile Scrum Master certification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint, Project Server).
