Job Description: SQL Server/Azure Database Administrator
Location: On-site interview required. Must be able to work on-site 3 days a week initially.
Overview: We are seeking a senior SQL Server database/Azure database administrator to join the Oracle/SQL Server Database Administration Team in the Enterprise Data Management section. The selected candidate will administer and support SQL Server databases throughout the agency.
Key Responsibilities:

• Database Administration:
• Administer SQL Server databases, ensuring uptime and availability.
• Monitor databases and troubleshoot issues related to connectivity, access, and security.
• Perform installations, upgrades, patching, and migrations of SQL Server databases.
• Support SQL Server databases with a focus on high availability, clustering, and mirroring.
• Utilize O/S scripting utilities for database maintenance and diagnosis.
• Performance Tuning:
• Tune long-running SQL queries and optimize database performance.
• Review and refine existing database tasks and processes to align with organizational priorities.
• Azure and Cloud Integration:
• Work with Azure Cloud services to support database operations.
• Integrate SQL Server databases with Azure-based solutions.
• Reporting and Analysis:
• Work with SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS for data integration, analysis, and reporting.
• Team Collaboration:
• Collaborate with a team of Oracle and SQL Server DBAs.
• Communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and speaking.
• Independently perform a variety of tasks and rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA.
• Expertise in SQL clustering, mirroring, and high availability.
• Experience with large SQL databases and writing Transact SQL.
• Experience in tuning Oracle and/or SQL Server databases.
• Proficiency in installing, upgrading, patching, and migrating SQL Server databases.
• Experience in a Windows environment.
• At least 2 years of experience with Azure Cloud services.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent skills, knowledge, and work history.
• Demonstrated experience in communicating effectively using standard requirements and design artifacts.

Desired Knowledge and Experience:

• Familiarity with SQL Server versions 2016-2022.
• Knowledgeable of data modeling principles.

This role requires on-site work three days a week initially and necessitates an on-site interview.
