Electrical Engineering Internship

Department: Engineering Research & Development.

Responsibilities:

The co-op and internship program provides candidates with challenging and impactful projects for the assigned business unit. Responsibilities are highly specific to the project or assignment on which you would be working, but some of the responsibilities you may have during an internship at Automated Packaging include:

• Develop simple design schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer.
• Building and testing of PCB assemblies.
• Participation in team meetings and projects.
• Preparation of reports and presentation of results to management.
• Brainstorming sessions to develop out-of-the-box ideas.
• Provide engineering operational support.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge and use of embedded controllers from work, curriculum, or hobbies.
• Experience with hardware, debugging tools, oscilloscope, and digital voltmeter (DVM).
• Soldering and prototyping skills.
• Knowledge of reading schematics, data sheets, and microprocessor reference manuals.
• Independent and collaborative problem-solving ability.
• Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets (especially Freescale/NXP ARM and Microchip PIC) is a plus.
• Knowledge of programming in C, Node.js, Python, and JavaScript preferred.
• Familiarity with software configuration management tools and defect tracking tools (Especially SourceGear Vault, Git, and Redmine) is a plus.
• Effective communication skills: 1-1 and written.
• Works collaboratively with others.
