Talento has partnered with a growing toy company seeking a Sr Product Designer for their boys action team.

Overview

This designer will successfully design and develop Boys Action, hard goods products for licensor brands. Experienced with vehicle and collectible toys. Demonstrate creative thinking and execute on a wide variety of projects to support and align with brand strategies and objectives. Display and exhibit strong ideation, sketching as well as technical problem solving abilities.

Duties

• Be instrumental in generating new toy concepts to enhance new and/or existing brands
• Exhibit interest and knowledge of the current trends/innovations as well as an understanding the competitive marketplace in the toy industry
• Champion great design in our high-quality products and help assure they are within target cost and QA/QC requirements
• Ensure delivery of precise, clear, and complete product turnover specifications and ensure they are fully understood by the international team(s)/factory(ies)
• Successfully prepare, present, and communicate concepts to the brand, development, management, and licensor teams
• Support the overall strategic goals of product, provide direction and feedback during the development process that is attentive to Licensor requirements
• Responsible for completing, reviewing, documenting specification changes, submitting for licensor approval and providing comments for illustrative turns, sculpts, paintmasters, and sample reviews
• Work closely with Brand/Management teams to resolve development issues, while assuring designs meet the target cost, schedule, and brand standards
• Communicate with packaging design team to assure product and packaging are aligned
• Work collaboratively with your branding, product management, engineering, packaging, licensor and other internal team partners to create product that is the best fit for the brand
• Build consensus between team members throughout the design process • Be adaptable to shifting priorities and be vigilant to keep team projects moving forward to hit deadlines
• Attend Brand, licensing and brainstorming meetings to obtain necessary information for product design

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience in Toy Design, Industrial Design, Industrial Engineering
• Must have experience in design and development of Boys Action Toys, Vehicles and Collectibles
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Fluency with Illustrator, Photoshop required)
• Demonstrate a strong design sense and problem-solving skills
• Proven expertise in control drawings and rendered illustration of concepts.
• Strong, visual verbal and written communication skills • Detail oriented and a well developed sense of aesthetics
• Knowledge of 3D modeling, sculpting, and rendering is a plus
• Knowledge of materials and multiple manufacturing processes
• Knowledge of working with Asia factories
• Knowledge of working with licensed brands
• Proactively observes and gains understanding of the competitive marketplace including current trends and innovation
• Ability to manage multiple projects, problem solving and adaptability to change
• Strong leadership competency with a focus on results, influence, accountability, collaboration, quality, cost efficiency and timelines
• Strong use of influencing skills to gain alignment, agreement and commitments across internal and external key stakeholders
• Superior presentation skills, ability to present at all levels within the internal organization as well as in key industry events

$40-42 per hour DOE
