Safety Coordinator – Commercial RoofingWork/FLSA Status: Full Time /ExemptReports To: National Safety DirectorCompensation: $70-$80K W/ Bonus’, Medical Coverage, Company Truck/Gas Card, matching 401k etc.The Safety Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day risk and safety tasks and proactively manages safety exposures. Collaborates with management team and Chief People Officer Resources and Risk Management to provide trends and high-level feedback and services to the internal staff.The ideal candidate for this position is a proactive, bilingual professional with a strong background in safety coordination, particularly within the roofing industry. They possess excellent communication skills, are adept at problem-solving, and can lead and influence a positive safety culture. This candidate is well-organized, maintains confidentiality, and demonstrates professionalism in all aspects of their work. They should have relevant certifications or be willing to achieve them and have experience in conducting safety training, accident investigations, and managing compliance. A collaborative team player, they are ready to support and coach personnel while effectively implementing safety programs and procedures.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides day-to-day safety input to implement and maintain a proactive, positive safety culture
  • Monitors job site activity, conducting CBO reviews and onsite feedback
  • Report CBO findings into trending reports
  • Create and deliver a safety training schedule based around CBO needs
  • Develop and hold specialty training as needed/required
  • Deliver weekly toolbox topics
  • Ensure job site orientation is conducted for new employees
  • Assist in any job site-specific safety or risk issues as identified
  • Manage driver files
  • Coordination of random drug testing
  • Conduct accident investigations
  • Oversee driver hours of service
  • Document and maintain CDL driver files and compliance
  • Document and report any and all claims needs to the President and Director
  • Provide strategic support to staff, personnel coaching as needed
  • Identify training requirements for core functional roles and team members, developing or procuring curriculum for each role, and delivering training or facilitating outsourced solutions for proper certifications and skills in these core functional roles
  • Effectively present 1:1 and to groups, lead implementation of programs and procedures
  • Assist in managing claims/E-Mod
  • Ensure all employees comply with safety regulations, including but not limited to the employee handbook, best practices, and crisis management
  • Lead change management and a positive safety culture
  • Conduct all business in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Support and abide by the values of the company
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Ability to be organized and maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Experience/Education Requirements:
  • OSHA 500 or 510 with STSC certification preferred or the ability to achieve
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), ASP, or Construction Health and Safety Technician
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Must be bilingual in Spanish
  • Construction and commercial experience preferred
