Position Overview: Are you a top tier, Senior Designer? In this role you will be a key player in crafting stunning, impactful hospitality and restaurant environments from concept to completion o. Join a passionate team and unleash your creativity as you develop detailed designs bring visionary ideas to life, ensuring every project is of a high standard and meeting the expectations of clients.Key Responsibilities:
- Creative Design & Documentation:
- Lead the charge in developing detailed, innovative design solutions.
- Conceptualize in three dimensions and produce a plan that works
- Produce partis/concepts that recognize the essentials of brand and also incorporate design considerations such as local relevance
- Innovative Design Activities:
- Dive into programming, code research, and material selection to build inspiring spaces.
- Skillfully layout program components and master area calculations for unique projects.
- Communicate the design concept and plan skillfully to clients and stakeholders
- Dynamic Site Evaluation:
- Conduct thorough site assessments and surveys, ensuring designs are perfectly aligned with their environment.
- Comprehensive Project Coordination & Review:
- Review and perfect project deliverables, from products to services and shop drawings.
- Orchestrate permit processes and coordinate with engineers and consultants for seamless revisions.
- Engage with contractors, sub-consultants, and building authorities to tackle construction challenges and document outcomes.
- Minimum 10 years of industry experience, with at least 5 years focused more on front end and conceptual architectural design
- Several years of experience working with hospitality and commercial projects such as restaurants, cafes, bars, etc., or if limited experience, then a strong interest in the sector.
- Mastery of architectural design software like Revit
- Proficient in navigating and applying building codes.
- An educational background in architecture or related post-secondary education.
- Professional registration with an architectural association is an asset
- Some experience working with hospitality projects strongly preferred
- Located in Illinois or in Michigan
- Work with an award-winning and leading architecture firm in the hospitality sector.
- Lead designs on high end and high profile projects
