Responsibilities of the Speech Pathologist:

• Administer hearing or speech and language evaluations, tests, or examinations to students to collect information on the type and degree of impairment.
• Evaluate hearing or speech and language test results, along with medical or background information, to diagnose and plan treatment for speech, language, fluency, voice, or swallowing disorders.
• Develop and/or implement treatment plans for speech problems based on own assessments and recommendations of physicians, psychologists, or social workers.
• Develop individual or group activities or programs to address social and pragmatic needs and speech and language deficits.
• Monitor students' progress and adjust treatments accordingly to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Participate in meetings and write reports regarding students' progress to keep stakeholders informed and involved in the treatment process.
• Educate students and family members about various topics, such as communication techniques or strategies to cope with or avoid personal misunderstanding.

Requirements of the Speech Pathologist:

• Master's degree in Speech Pathology.
• New York License in Speech Pathology and CCC's (Certificate of Clinical Competence).
• 1 years of clinical experience in Speech Pathology preferred.
• Valid driver's license and meet agency driving standards.

Compensation and Benefits:

• $54,662.00 Minimum Rate per year, $91,104.00 Maximum Rate per year, based on experience.
