Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a safe and environmentally compliant work area, adhering to safety and blood lead policies.
  • Verify that all products meet or exceed quality requirements.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain Optical Emissions Spectrometers.
  • Accurately measure and document machined, extruded, rolled, and cast parts.
  • Maintain an inspection log and generate non-conforming reports.
  • Monitor and maintain the calibration system for measuring tools.
  • Develop and maintain a 6S program in the QC Lab, auditing daily.
  • Investigate defective products and conduct Rockwell Hardness Testing as required.
  • Generate Certificates of Analyses and/or Conformance.
  • Prepare products for shipment and assist with Quality System Audits.
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections on incoming parts.
  • Maintain controlled document files and test records.

Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience in the lead or metal industries.
  • 2 years of experience programming/operating a portable measuring arm, preferably with PolyWorks (other CMM experience considered).
  • Forklift training and certification preferred.
  • Crane operation certification preferred.
  • Strong math and measurement skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Independent and self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret government and industry specifications.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and measure machined parts from drawings and 3D CAD.
  • Focused on Continuous Improvement.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to climb stairs multiple times during a shift.
  • Ability to work 2nd shift.
  • Ability to stand and walk up to 10 hours per day.
  • Ability to wear PPE, including a respirator, hard hat, safety glasses, and uniform, for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Capable of lifting heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
