Role:

This company is looking to hire an experienced Finance and Operations Director who will serve as a collaborative leader of the firm’s close-knit Finance and Operations team. The candidate will have ultimate responsibility for all aspects of fund accounting, valuations and investment operations processes and workflows. The successful candidate will manage the current team members and ensure we have strong service provider relationships Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for the Office Administrative team. The mission for our operations team is to provide accurate, timely and insightful support to our investors and team at scale, while managing operational risk. This position will play a critical role in driving this mission. This position will report to the Chief Operating Officer.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Oversight of all Fund Accounting, Treasury, Investment Operations, Performance Reporting and Office Administration functions.
• Initiate and drive policies, process improvements and internal controls to help us scale our operational capabilities and reduce operational risk.
• Support the COO in the development and oversight of policies and practices as it relates to all our crypto investments.
• Lead a team of two Fund Controllers, an Assistant Fund Controller, and a Senior Treasury Associate and three office administrators, to ensure a high level of execution.
• Oversight and approval of fund expense allocations and calculations.
• Approve management fees and fund AP processes and calculations.
• Take ownership of the direct investment valuation policy and process.
• Lead the reporting process for our annual tax and K1 reporting.
• Oversee relationships with our core service providers: fund administrator, tax consultants, auditors, valuation agents, banks, and others, as necessary.
• Mentor and develop team members and contribute to the team’s culture.
• Conduct ad-hoc analytical related projects as needed to support our performance reporting needs.
• Support portfolio and performance reporting, including annual meeting reporting requirements, as needed.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded finance operation professional with 12 experience in an asset/investment manager, preferably in the PE/VC space. This person must have prior managerial responsibilities and have exposure to a broad range of investment accounting and operations. This person must be a collaborative and supportive team player.

• A strong understanding of PE/VC funds, fund accounting, and investment operations processes.
• CPA with strong understanding of US GAAP as it relates to investment accounting for PE/VC funds.
• Advanced analysis, modelling, and Excel skill.
• Strong people management skills with the ability to manage at all levels of the organization.
