Are you interested in dentistry? Our talented team is seeking an assistant to join our crew! We are Tamal Vista Family Dentistry , the office of Dr.

James McDowell, Dr. Dan Scott, and Dr. Chris Bayer , in downtown San Rafael. With a growing practice and the departure of our beloved dental assistant who is moving onto hygiene school, we are seeking a full time clinical team member who is hungry to learn and looking to be a part of a supportive and collaborative team.

What services do we provide? - We are a thriving general dentistry practice who offer a full scope of services including restorative and cosmetic dentistry, implants, endo, limited orthodontics, airway therapy and more.

We love families, so we see patients from the age of 3 to 103 ! We are so proud to have been named Best Esthetic Dentist in Marin by the Pacific Sun and as well as Marin IJ's Best of a true team effort!

Position is 32 hours Mon-Fri, occasional Saturdays

Compensation : We’ve created a benefits package to ensure our team knows they are appreciated. We offer top salary for our location, vacation pay, medical and dental benefits, a 401K plan, fastrak if applicable, and a bonus plan!

Dental assistants are vital in our office and the right candidate should possess the following qualities :

  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Reliable
  • Computer knowledge and efficiency
  • Motivated / Self-Starter
  • Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties :

  • Communicate effectively with team and patients
  • Sterilize and disinfect instruments, equipment and operatory
  • Procedure and operatory setup and preparation
  • Stock supplies in operatories, restrooms, lab, etc. as needed
  • Assist hygienist with periodontal charting and room turnover
  • Help dental assistants, doctors and front desk team when necessary

If eligible :

  • Chairside assisting and patient centered service
  • Take X-rays with Nomad portable unit and CBCT
  • Intra-oral 3-D scanning
  • Temporary Crowns and Veneers
  • Treatment planning, charting and notes in dental software

Selection Criteria :

  • Dental experience is a plus but not required for the right candidate
  • A positive attitude with an interest in dentistry and a passion to learn
  • Customer service, computer experience and phone skills required
