Description:Overview
Tanaq Environmental, LLC. (Tanaq) delivers environmental engineering, investigation, consulting, and remediation services to local, state, and federal agencies in the areas of hazardous & toxic waste restoration and military munitions site management. About the role
We are seeking a Project Manager - Emerging Contaminants to independently manage the execution of emerging contaminants and environmental restoration projects assigned to Tanaq Environmental, LLC (TEL) by federal and commercial clients. The Project Manager - Emerging Contaminants candidates must have experience conducting and managing emerging contaminants and environmental restoration projects ranging from investigations, remedial design, and remedial action through long-term operations (LTO), long-term monitoring (LTM), and final site closeout.
This is a hybrid remote position that will require travel (at least 30% of time) and onsite work supporting projects at locations in various U.S. states, including Fairchild Air Force Base near Spokane, Washington. Candidates physically located in Spokane, WA, Denver, CO, or anywhere in U.S. Pacific or Mountain Time zones preferred.
Responsibilities

  • Responsible for successful execution of all elements of project scopes of work (SOWs), including developing and adhering to project schedules and budgets.
  • Coordinates with corporate and project-level safety and quality management staff to ensure all projects are conducted in accordance with applicable safe and quality standards.
  • Identifies safety and quality issues regarding project execution and, when necessary, develops and implements corrective actions.
  • Works with TEL management team to develop technical approaches and cost proposals in response to client requests for proposals (RFPs), supports management team through negotiations of new contracts and/or task orders, leads team of project professionals, technicians, and support staff through execution of project work, including but not limited to planning document preparations, field investigations, remediation efforts, data analysis and evaluation, remedial action planning, system design (as appropriate), LTM and/or LTO, and final reporting.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact) for clients and ensures all client requirements are met in strict accordance with contract requirements.
  • Identifies work requests or requirements that are outside the SOW, and immediately communicates out-of-scope items to the client and to the TEL management team.
  • Coordinates preparation of change order requests for out-of-scope items and supports negotiations of any scope and cost changes.
  • Coordinates all subcontracting activities with support of appropriate subject matter experts, negotiates subcontract pricing, ensure appropriate oversight of subcontractors, and reviews and approves subcontractor invoices.
  • Reports directly to TEL management team at least monthly financial status and progress of projects.
  • Oversees staff working on projects to ensure work is done correctly and within budget.

Requirements:Required Experience and Skills

  • Minimum 3-5 years of project management experience in managing multiple projects to successful completion required. Minimum 8 years of overall experience following receipt of bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Prior experience managing operation & maintenance projects, including knowledge of pumps, piping, filters, carbon treatment, flow control, and pressure components.
  • Prior experience working on environmental restoration projects.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Self-driven with ability to self-manage, take direction, and proactively run with tasks.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Prior experience working for Department of Defense (DoD) clients preferred.
  • Experience with per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) contamination preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clear and satisfactory driving record.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Tanaq Environmental, LLC, with headquarters in Anchorage AK and a Program Management Office in Denver CO, supports major project operations in AL, AK, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, KS, MD, MO, MS, NV, OH, OK, TX, VA, and WA. Staff are in disperse locations supporting projects nationwide. Work-at-home situations are available for qualified staff.
Education and Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical area of expertise from accredited institution and minimum of 6 years of overall experience following receipt of bachelor’s degree. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Professional Licensure (PE, PG, PMP) is preferred, if available, for the area of technical expertise.
  • OSHA 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations (HAZWOPER) training with the current 8-hour update preferred.
  • OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Training preferred.
  • USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM) Training, preferred.
  • Other demonstrated safety, quality, or technical training will be considered favorably.

Physical Requirements

  • Candidate's preferred physical location is in the Pacific or Mountain time zones of the U.S.
  • Candidate must be able and willing to travel at least 20%-40% of time to visit job sites, perform onsite work supporting projects in various U.S. states, attend client meetings, and attend professional or technical conferences.
  • Candidate must be able to sit at a desk for prolonged periods while working on a computer.
  • Candidate may need to lift up to 25 pounds regularly.

Pay Range
The projected annual salary range for this position in Colorado or Washington is $85,000 - $110,000. Please note that the salary information listed is a good faith estimate for this position and a general guideline only. There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, education, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, as well as business considerations and contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
