A DAY IN THE LIFE:

Responsible for performing general accounting duties, with an emphasis in pharmacy revenue accounting, such as rebate accounting, chargebacks, gross to net reporting, management of financial relationship with wholesalers and pharmacy benefits managers, and contract reviews. Will also be responsible for other revenue related analysis and entries, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, month-end journal entries, preparation, and preliminary review of certain financial statement reports. Assists in the maintenance of the following accounting systems and processes: Revenue Recognition and Analysis, Intercompany Sales, Foreign Currency Translation, Journal Entries, General Ledger, Cash Flows, and Financial Reporting in accordance with GAAP policies and procedures. Participates in annual audits and special projects. Works with external consultants and auditors to provide required information and ensure proper recordkeeping for historical purposes.

YOU’RE AWESOME AT:

  • Ensures accurate accounting for pharmacy channel revenue:
    • Calculates and records pharmacy revenue related entries, including the rebate accrual, chargebacks, distribution fees, early payment discounts, etc.
    • Coordinates with accounts receivable and market access team to manage the financial relationship with wholesalers and pharmacy benefit managers.
    • Prepares gross to net reporting for pharmacy sales.
    • Reviews pharmacy related contracts for key financial terms.
    • Coordinates with external vendors to verify rebate data.
  • Participates in monthly, quarterly, and year end close procedures.
  • Coordinates all revenue accounting and related close processes.
  • Prepares certain journal entries, account analyses and reconciliations for general ledger accounts including, but not limited to, revenue related accounts, intercompany accounts, and foreign currency translation accounts.
  • Communicates with operational departments inside and outside of the close process to ensure proper revenue recognition.
  • Reviews and analyzes revenue activity and related calculations.
  • Reviews intercompany transactions to ensure proper elimination on the consolidated financial statements.
  • Reviews translation of foreign currency transactions to ensure proper reporting.
  • Generates internal revenue reports and financial statements for management review.
  • Participates in post close meeting presentations.
  • Identifies and resolves revenue related issues promptly.
  • Reconciles certain Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Assists in maintaining the G/L, including account structure, adding/changing/deleting cost centers, departments and accounts.
  • Assists in maintaining relevant financial reports, as well as structure of financial statements.
  • Prepares various quarterly and annual audit schedules.
  • Interfaces with outside auditors and provides requested information during audit periods.
  • Participates in compliance with GAAP, Sunshine Act, SOX and company policies and procedures, specifically to support revenue management activities.
  • Assists in implementing, writing, and maintaining standard operating procedures for the Finance department.
  • Assists with writing memos on significant revenue accounting matters.
  • Confirms completion of required training plan before assuming job responsibilities.
  • Ensures work is performed in compliance with company policies including Privacy/HIPAA and other regulatory, legal, and safety requirements.

EXTRA AWESOME:

  • B.S. degree in accounting or related field, or combination of equivalent education and applicable job experience.
  • CPA, preferred.
  • 5 years of experience with general ledger accounting and reconciliations.
  • Experience with medical billing and reimbursement, preferred.
  • Experience with accounting for revenue in pharmacy sales channel, strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of general accounting rules and general ledger account structure.
  • Detail oriented with good analytical skills.
  • Adept at seeing change as an opportunity to improve business performance and campaigning for it when necessary.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Able to assert own ideas and persuade others through effectively consolidating, evaluating, and presenting relevant information.
  • Skilled at promoting team cooperation and a commitment to team success.
  • Familiarity with GAAP revenue accounting, particularly ASC 606.
  • Familiarity with Accounts Receivable and GL modules of ERP systems. Microsoft D365 preferred. 
  • Demonstrated understanding of Financial Reporting Systems. Adaptive preferred.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

The starting base pay range for this position is $87,300 - $120,000 annually. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate’s location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonus, equity, and a robust benefits package.

Tandem offers health care benefits such as medical, dental, vision, health savings accounts and flexible saving accounts.
