A team in NJ is seeking a Client Accounting Specialist to join them in supporting their book of business locally in NJ.

Responsibilities:

* Minimum 5 years of experience as a full-time, full-charge bookkeeper or 5 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping firm servicing multiple clients.
* The candidate must have a strong background in bookkeeping and accounting principles to effectively assist clients in understanding their financial information.
* Perform all client accounting functions:
o Categorize bank and credit card transactions
o Process Vendor Bills
o Book journal entries
o Accrue expenses
o Account for payroll transactions (gross wages, employer payroll taxes, tax liabilities, etc.)
o Reconcile bank and credit cards to statements
* Process and organize financial documents
* Analyze financial statements and prepare adjustments as necessary.

Qualifications:

* QuickBooks Online experience (5 or more years) along with recent public accounting experience
* Must know New Jersey Tax and Accounting laws
* Experience with 1040 Tax forms preferred
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) and Adobe Acrobat and proven comfort with technology
* Responsible for multiple clients at the same time
* College degree preferred
* Solid understanding of accounting principles
* High comfort level with technology including apps
* Work independently with minimal supervision required
* Excellent organization skills
* Ability to build good working relationships with clients
* Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and delegate when necessary
* Strong attention to detail
