A public accounting firm located in New York City is actively seeking a self-motivated and collaborative professional to join their staff as a Tax Director / Partner. In this role, the Tax Director / Partner will provide support to the firm's Trusts & Estates function.

Responsibilities

The Tax Director / Partner will:

• Review tax returns to ensure these are sufficiently complete and accurate before presenting to Partners for theoretical top review
• Ensure Partners have adequate time to review work prior to due dates
• Resolve all preparers' open points and your review comments
• Explain all return diagnostics
• Identify tax planning opportunities and discuss with Partner
• Obtain client information
• Recognize and resolve issues to ensure year-end work is sufficiently complete and accurate to present to Partner for top review

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree
• 6 years of related experience
• Expertise in HNW Tax, including solid skills in Trusts, Estates and Gift taxes servicing privately held businesses and entrepreneurs, as well as high net worth clients
• Ability to review complex and detailed client work in preparation of Partner review
• Excellent communication skills
• Proven leadership capabilities
