Tandym Tech is Hiring an Equipment Technician Near Washington, DC
A services organization in Washington, D.C. is actively seeking a new Equipment Technician to join their growing team. In this role, the Equipment Technician will be responsible for providing support for the IT Asset Team and ensuring that technology assets are, tracked, received, recovered, deployed, and retired in a controlled manner.
Responsibilities:
The Equipment Technician will:
- Unbox / box and ship IT equipment
- Interact with hardware vendors related to warranty and other repair needs
- Pick up equipment, distribute equipment, and prepare equipment for disposal
- Process inventory of the building, may use scanning tool
- Managing request tickets and ensure that asset records are kept current
- Interact with hardware vendors related to warranty and other repair needs
- Ensure tickets are accurately documented and resolved in a timely manner while being responsible for updating Asset detail/location/user assignment in Service Now.
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 4 years of related work experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Knowledge in using ServiceNow or comparable Ticket & Incident Management system
- Familiar with imaging and installation of applications
- Experience with hardware and software support, troubleshooting, system imaging, hardware break-fix support (i.e., laptops, desktops), refresh, upgrade and deployment projects
- Customer service oriented
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- ITIL v3 Foundation Level certification
